Art K-12 Licensure

Who I am...

Currently I substitute teach for three districts in the twin cities area. I love Minneapolis/Saint Paul and currently reside in Burnsville with my husband. I am hoping to find an art teaching position, but I am also excited to see where opportunities bring me.
I grew up in the Chicago area, but before my last year of high school, my family relocated to Winona. Exploring Minnesota turned out to be an unexpected blessing. My alma mater, Winona State University was exactly the place I was looking for, but never had to search very hard to find.

Why I want to teach...

I enjoy art and music and believe others can too, given the right instruction. I have always loved playing piano and guitar in my spare time. Creating visual art is a natural ability I discovered late in my high school career. I chose to pursue this area because of the influence I have had from many teachers. Teachers of the arts were my role models. They seemed to be able to handle any situation and always offered their services outside the classroom. Making a difference and sharing my talents in an area I love, such as art, is one of my many reasons for this career choice.
